Evaluation Q6

Throughout my project I became accustomed to new varities of softwar and tech that I had not used before.

Adobe Premier Pro - This was the video and photo editing software I used to string my stills together and add certain effects.

OnLocation - Software That I used to put video into the right format and transfer it to CD etc.

Photoshop - This is the programme I used to do the first stage of editing on my stills jusy after I took them.

The camera I used was a was a Nikon 12 mega pixel.

All of this tech means that amatuers can produce hih quality products.

Blogging helped me to keep track of what I learnt because it was all well structured and clearly presented, which allowed me to display processes and ideas easily.

Evaluation Q5

A cruial part of Evaluating any product is collecting feedback from your audience. I devised a series of questions that helped me tell whether or not my media achieved it's purpose.

Q1. Did the title sequence gain and keep your attention throughout?   3/5 people said yes.

Q2. Did the title sequence make you want to watch the full feature? 2/5 people said yes.

Q3. Was the product visually appealing? 4/5 people said yes

Q4. Did the sequence match the genre and give you the related emotions? 5/5 people said that it matched the genre.  2/5 people said it made them feet a cerain way. eg. Tense etc.

Q5. Overall, did you like the title sequence? 4/5 people said yes.

Overall, I felt that I was fairly successful in attracting my target audience altough some feedback indicated that my title sequence perhaps did not achieve the desired effect. I showed my title sequence to 5 people over 18 years old, and overall they took a preffered reading of it and appreciated what it was trying to achieve. Most of them recognised similarities to ohter films within the same genre which was encouraging. And most particularly enjoyed the ending where I created an enigma code to keep them thinking.

Evaluation Q4

A target audience should always be based around the genre and the content of that particualr media, my chosen genre was horror, which meant that my target audience will be for people aged 18 and over, anywhere in the world that has access to my media, which has a relevance to distribution, mainstream, independant etc.

Evaluation Q3

The big film producers include companies such as Warner Brothers and Universal. These companies are international corporations and usually have their own chains etc. Most mainstream media will be produced and distributed by companies like these.

There are a number of ways to distribute films, it could be internet distribution etc.

I believe that my media would be produced and distributed by an independant company which would mainly use internet distribution. If my media were to be seen in cinema cains, it would be because the idependant company had paid a much larger company (Such as Universal) to distribute it for them. This is how independant companies get their products into the mainstream.

The ideology that independants cant get their work our is becoming more residual and we are seeing much more of their work in the mainstream.

Title and credits

There will be a number of items created by me imported from Photoshop in  my final title sequence. This will include both The title and credits.

Monday 17 January 2011

Plan of action

(To match the soundtrack) ( 'The Evil Drums' 'X-Ray Dog' 'Mad Dog')

Find a variety of particular locations within the woods and plan out how many photos (Roughly) need to be taken for the whole title sequence.

Take these photos in the correct type of light to match the genre.

Edit on Photoshop and import to Premiere Pro, along with the soundtrack and opening credits.

Scripting and rehearsing.

There does not need to be any scripting or rehearsing for our project as it will consist completely of editing photos put together in a sequence.

Costumes and Props.

As already discussed, the title sequence will not need any costumes because there will be no one appearing in it. We will need certain props, such as a blood covered axe and general assortments of creepy objects, that will be strewn across the woods.

Organisation of Location/Permssion.

We will be taking the photographs on privatley owned property so we will not need permission, although we do need to find the perfect area on this property that will suit our title sequence.

The capturing process will be based in and around a woodland area, this is a good setting in which to appropriately capture the atmosphere which will match the Genre of Psychological Horror.

Since the wood covers a large area, we will need to look around for the correct area in which to carry out our capturing.

Friday 7 January 2011

Performers and casting.

We wont need anyone to actually appear in our title sequence although there will be a number of abstract shots of distant figures and super close ups of certain body parts such as hands etc. but we will need various other props. The fact that there will be no actual shots of people, adds mystery to the title sequence for added effect.

The close up and abstract shots of different body parts will also help maintain a sense of mystery, and will include blurred shots.
